How about diversifying into Business Development?
(£30-40k plus bonus)
Our best sales people have evolved into the job from roles in medical writing, editing, production and IT. Customers from the pharmaceutical industry, medical societies and charities appreciate these additional skills, as do the five of us here in Abingdon working on new content and commercial models for: fastfacts.com, patientpictures.com and embarrassingproblems.com.
As well as inviting applicants that can ‘hit the ground running’, we also welcome those with a background in data analytics, advertising, licensing, teaching or medicine (and experience of the American and Far East markets).
The Publications Developer position we are now recruiting is occasionally messy, intense and quiet, and often stimulating and rewarding, particularly if you get a buzz out of happy customers and an uncapped bonus scheme.
If you are a compelling communicator and disciplined problem-solver and, like our three brands, are bursting with potential, please send your CV and covering letter to Sarah Redston, or call +44 (0)1235 523233 with any initial questions you may have.
“I’m a Medical Editor Plus”
If this is you, Health Press Limited would love to hear from you. While we are seeking an experienced freelance medical editor to provide back-up editorial services on an as-needed basis, we are also looking for an individual who wishes to get to know our brands inside and out and can bring new ideas and skills to our small creative team.
Health Press Limited publishes the Fast Facts medical handbook series and the healthcare websites www.embarrassingproblems.com and www.patientpictures.com.
Your work will primarily involve copy editing and proofreading of Fast Facts handbooks, working closely with our world-class authors and illustrators at all stages of production to ensure the content is the best of its kind on the market. You will need to have a minimum of 3 years’ medical editing experience and be switched on to generating ideas that will improve the effectiveness of our health-promoting content. Additional skills (e.g. copy writing, SEO, digital licensing) would be an advantage. Some on-site collaboration is favoured, and for the right candidate there is the opportunity for this to expand into a full-time position in our offices just outside Oxford.
In the first instance, please contact Senior Editor Sharon de Botte with your CV, hourly rate, and a covering letter detailing why you would be the ‘best fit’ for this role.
